Lancaster Marigold Iridescent Carnival Glass 6 Inch Bowl
This bowl features a gorgeous iridescent metallic finish with wide paneled rays.
It is in good vintage condition.
It has a ping towards its base that feels smooth.
It looks like it was wiped before the Iron Chloride was melted in place.
Thus, the marigold appears unevenly sprayed or wiped towards the base.
There are no other cracks or chips.
This bowl is still gorgeous!
**Marigold glass was made by spraying glass with Iron Oxide directly out of the oven, which left the rainbow color on it.
Then the glass was reheated immediately to permanently "cook" or "melt" the color onto it.
The 3 large Marigold glass producers were Dugan, Imperial, and Jeannette.
The Lancaster Glass Co. was in operation from 1908-1937, when it was acquired by Hocking Glass, Now Anchor Hocking.
This is an extremely rare bowl.
This bowl stands 3 1/2 inches in height.
It is about 6 Inches wide.
A perfect gift for the Marigold enthusiast in your life!
