I opened my shop 8 years ago. I didn't do much with it because, as a Registered Nurse, The Covid Pandemic took front stage. I ended up back in Nursing full-time.

Now semi-retired, I am back to doing what I enjoy!

I love researching and sharing the history of the beautiful items I sell online. I have a decade of vintage in my heat-regulated 3-story shop. Since I don't sell in person, the entire space is dedicated to the storage of a rainbow vintage treasure. One floor is dedicated entirely to Milk Glass. https://www.etsy.com/shop/MyPurpleCowLuvsMilk

Be on the lookout for weekly updates.

I hope to be posting weekly as the items are listed on my shop! #JanelliminellisShop #VintageForSale #EtsySeller #VintageOnlineShop #EtsyVintage

Many early 20th Century glass companies made Vaseline glass. Back before they knew the dangers of Uranium, it was added to all kinds of everyday items, like alarm clocks, for its warm glow. So the glass companies got in on the fun and added a minute amount to servingware, especially glass for the glow, which is very evident under ultraviolet or Black Light. The amount added to servingware was so minimal, items were not recalled, and they are safe to use today.

If you follow my Blog, you will soon learn the prominent vintage glass companies, especially the American ones. Not including them all, here are a few of those companies: Imperial, Jeannette, Hocking-Anchor Hocking, Federal, Indiana, Hazel Atlas, Steuban-Corning Glass Works, and US Glass. I am sure I'm leaving a few out!

Many of these companies made sandwich glass, which is a fancy name for pressed glass servingware.  It became popular for a time to add the Uranium Oxide for the "flourescent glow". I believe they added 2% Uranium Oxide and sometimes more. I am just learning about this style. I have pieces of Anchor Hocking and Federal in my shop. As I bring them home and list them, I will enlighten you! This TeaCup Id a federal glass piece made in the 1930s. It features 2 birds and a basket  Pattern.  Its formal name is "Georgian Green". All vaseline glass in my shop, presently.

I look forward to sharing more information with you as my journey unfolds.
